About Me

Hello, my name is Manda Comisari. I am a fine artist, illustrator, and author originally from California. I currently live and work out of my studio in London.

I specialize in gouache on paper and my works are vibrant, modern, and whimsical. Although traditionally considered an illustrative medium, I believe gouache can produce evocative works that hold their own alongside more conventional fine art mediums in both gallery and museum settings.

My formal training in the fine arts laid the foundation for a career that spans multiple disciplines. I have worked on creative projects for private and commercial clients around the world and am a traditionally published author. Additionally, I have served as an editor for scripts in the film and TV industry and as a story editor for middle-grade and early-reader children’s books.

My artwork has been recognized by International Artists Magazine, the Society of Animal Artists, the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation, Best of Artists, Pentawards, Creativity Awards, BuzzFeed, AOI World Illustration Awards, Brightness Illustration Awards, and 3x3 Magazine of Contemporary Illustration.

I am a Leopold Schepp Foundation Scholar, Clan Donald Educational Trust Recipient, and Hispanic Scholarship Fund Scholar.
